In response to the incident that occurred in November last year, an investigation agency was established within the company. The airline said it had reported the incident to the police. However, it does not specify when the 30-day ban will go into effect.

Additionally, the National Women's Commission raised the issue in a letter addressed to Air India Chairman N Chandrasekaran. In addition, the Civil Aviation Directorate has asked airlines to report on the incident and said it would "take action against anyone found to be at fault."

The woman reportedly complained to the flight attendants, and the man remained standing until another passenger demanded it. He is said to have told him to return to his seat.

According to Air India's official statement, the matter has been reported to its DGCA for further action. A spokesman explained that the maximum unilateral suspension he could have is 30 days. In the course of its investigation and reporting, the airline said it is in regular contact with angry passengers and their families. "We have also established an internal committee to investigate negligence by Air India's crew and address deficiencies that have delayed the prompt resolution of the situation," the statement said.
