 Breakthrough in Delhi:

A record-breaker, he strains the grid three times

Delhi, India:
Delhi was hit by a severe cold spell on Thursday with the season's lowest temperature at 3 degrees Celsius. Freezing winds from the snow-capped Himalayas are said to have blown across the plains, including the state capital, causing people in the city to stay home.
at 5 o'clock:
Around 3.30pm, visibility of 50 meters was reported in the town.

Delhi's central weather station, the Safdarjung Observatory, recorded a low of 3 degrees Celsius, up from 4.4 degrees on Wednesday and 8.5 degrees on Tuesday.

Power grids are expected to be stretched by cold weather, making it difficult for the homeless.

On Wednesday, the Delhi Meteorological Department NCR issued an orange warning for Thursday and Friday.

For weather alerts, the Indian Meteorological Department uses four colour codes.
Green stands for no action, yellow for monitoring and information, orange for preparation, and red for action.
